This was a comedy with Ricky Gervais and Rob Lowe. It was kind of an interesting world they created, a world without lying. Their movies were readings of history. The main character is a screenwriter. His period of history to write from was 1300's.
Somehow Ricky Gervais' character invents lying and starts to get what he wants out of life. Pretty interesting stuff, especially religion.
