Up

I saw this movie twice. Once with my gf Holly, the second time with my Nephews and my Mom.

It was in 3D so we wore those silly glasses, so that was a fun bit of novelty.

The story was pretty cool. A kid dreams of adventures and travel, meets a girl that dreams of adventure and travel, they grow up, get married, live their lives, but do not seek adventure and travel, do not have kids. They get old, the wife passes away. The old guy is about to go away to an old folks home when he goes on a fantastic adventure via house balloon, meets his childhood hero, and makes friends with a kid, saves the day. Yeah!

Pixar always does a great job! Keep it up Pixar!

Away We Go

This was an interesting movie staring two funny people: John Krasinsky and Maya Rudolf. Krasinsky I know from the TV show The Office, and Maya Rudolf from Saturday Night Live. I am glad these two got to make a film as the main characters because they are both very talented. Especially Maya Rudolf, Krasinski is kind of new, but has already been the main character in movies, but Maya has been around for a while and as far as I know hasn't starred as the main character, so good for her.

This was a funny touching movie about what "home" and "family" means. Rudolf's character is pregnant, John's parents are moving to Europe, and his parents are the only reason they are living where they are, so they start a journey trying to find a new home and family in order to start their own.

It was pretty tragic when they visited their friends in Canada. Really funny when the visited Krasinki's character's sister, and Maya's friend and sister in Arizona. And the movie has a very sweet ending.
